Creating Balance and Ease
In this weekend we will delve into the basics of Ortho-Bionomy, a highly effective system of therapeutic bodywork that uses movements and positioning of the body to gently release pain and neuromuscular tension patterns. Developed by an osteopath, Dr Arthur Lincoln Pauls, this holistic system promotes self-healing of the body by:
Relieving pain gently without causing pain
Releasing sensitive (trigger) points with little or no effort
Supporting the body's self-healing capacity
Utilising the nervous system of the body to affect change
Ortho-Bionomy techniques are effective in working with clients whilst reducing the stress placed on the practitioner's body. Participants will learn how to facilitate change on a deep level with long-lasting results without causing pain or discomfort to their clients.
In this class we will focus on specific positional release techniques for addressing tension and pain in the entire body. At the end of the course participants will be able to work with every joint in the body to facilitate relief from pain, to increase joint range of movement, and to integrate structural changes.

Addressing Chronic Pain with
Ortho-Bionomy®
The dynamic of chronic pain can be debilitating for our clients and challenging for us as Practitioners. The science of neuroplasticity and brain research have revealed an entirely new paradigm for what pain is, how it functions and what types of interventions are most beneficial. We now know that pain is a nervous system state which may or may not be related to the state of the tissues. Long-term pain creates changes in the nervous system that potentially reinforce the ongoing pain pattern.
Fortunately, there have been incredible advances in understanding how pain works and new strategies for addressing and changing chronic pain responses. Ortho-Bionomy is uniquely resourced to utilise these strategies by adapting our techniques and skills to help clients who are suffering with chronic pain.
In this course we’ll cover:
· The current understanding of what chronic pain is and why it becomes chronic
· How Ortho-Bionomy can engage with the nervous system to assist in reorganising pain signalling
· Techniques for engaging the nervous system to reorganise responses for interrupting the experience of pain
· How to modulate our interaction with our client’s body to avoid the pain response and increase functional responsiveness
· Strategies for integration and re-education of the body/mind experience of long-term pain
At the end of this course you’ll have an in depth understanding of how pain works as well as skills and techniques for addressing chronic pain issues that you can take into your practice straight away.
